Picture yourself browsing through your favorite social media and all of a sudden, alluring images of steaming coffee cups, colorful coffee sacs, or barista tools appear on your screen. Then, at that exact moment, you might think, this is just another guy selling coffee and offering a tour of flavors and the best coffee you could ever have. Well, not quite. Your search history and your browsing preferences enable companies to find, reach and offer you products, and quite frankly, this might be the reason why you find yourself reading these words today.
However, I don´t want you to quickly browse through the site, nor offer what others already have, I only want to ask for a minute of your time, read what thecoffeerepublic.com is all about and, invite you to join in and become a part of this journey.
You see, when I created thecoffeerepublic.com, just a few months ago, the world of coffee was almost unknown to me, yes I know, this sounds strange for someone born and raised in Colombia, one of the largest coffee producers in the world, on the contrary, I was no expert, nor did I receive a degree as a “coffee connoisseur”.
The coffee tradition that my origin supposes was not a factor as I ventured into the world of coffee. For me, as for most people who drink coffee, my previous experience was that of a common consumer, very similar to those who buy coffee at the supermarket and then prepare it at home, or those who drink it in a cafeteria, or it in their offices, seeking to find within the properties of coffee, the strength to avoid falling asleep in front of the computer in those soporific afternoons.
Yes, before thecoffeerepublic.com, my experience with coffee, was possibly less than yours, however here I am, trying to make you a citizen of thecoffeerepublic.com, but first I must tell you a little about how it all began.
My family and I arrived in the US at the end of 2018, and for a little over a year, I worked as a marketing consultant. I developed web pages and online positioning strategies for an IT company. However, I felt no passion and was unsatisfied with what I was doing.
As a result, starting 2020, I decided to shift direction and focused on a new project, one that encouraged me to jump out of bed every day and inspired me to give it my best. So, with this idea in mind, I began to look for things that I really liked and with which I considered I could transcend work and help others. However, as you already know, 2020 had a mega surprise ready for us, which in my case, shook my ground even more and made me rethink and plan for a future in the midst of an economic contraction and global uncertainty.
When crises arise, the best ideas emerge, and so, when waters go back to its course, one finds the way.
It was then, in a moment of clarity, after a conversation with a friend, that I found myself sitting, drinking a cup of coffee, and staring at it as a challenge, as something possible and ultimately as a factor of change. Coffee, the reason why I had the conversation with my friend, became the engine of the idea, an idea that transcended the simple fact of selling coffee beans. This idea brought along with it, passion, excitement, the need to learn, and the delight of sharing knowledge and delivering coffee growers a lion´s share for their hard work.
Thus, began the path that brings us together today. Of course, I am still not a coffee expert. Reaching expertise requires years of study, training, fieldwork, and coffee tasting. It takes time to learn to differentiate the vigorous aromas and the bitter, sweet, sour, and salty flavors that a coffee cup can bring.
So, what is thecoffeerepublic.com about? I can, without a doubt, say that thecoffeerepublic.com is a meeting place for coffee lovers, for those passionate about its process, for those who appreciate its origin and history, for those who value the love and hope coffee-growing families place on their plantation and for those aware of the great social changes taking place in communities thank coffee plantation profits.
Consequently, thecoffeerepublic.com is an ally of expert roasters in the United States, who are recognized for their years of hard work and tradition, but also for supporting and promoting good and honest trade practices. Coffee sold at thecoffeerepublic.com is sublime in its quality and it is roasted by experts in the United States at the moment of shipment while rewarding the effort of coffee growers.
At thecoffeerepublic.com, we commit ourselves to continuous learning, maintaining a constant curiosity, that of the passionate and always exploring different ways to enjoy a good cup of coffee.
I invite you to become a citizen at thecoffeerepublic.com so that you can share your experiences when having a good coffee, the one you like, yes, that one as unique as you, whilst enjoying the great diversity of aromas and flavors waiting to be shared and tasted.
